Hi — I’m Andrew, founder of WX Rundown. I’m a lifelong weather enthusiast with a passion for making powerful weather information easier and more affordable for everyone.
My interest in weather began during childhood, watching thunderstorms roll in from the front porches of my family home. What started as a fascination with thunder, lightning, and rapidly changing skies eventually grew into a deep interest in forecasting, radar technology, severe weather, satellite imagery, and the tools people use to stay informed and safe.
In early 2025, I began independently building WX Rundown from the ground up. I’ve privately funded the entire project with my own money — no outside investors, corporate backing, or donor funding. Every feature, improvement, server expense, and development cost has come out of my own pocket as part of my commitment to creating something genuinely useful.
The goal was simple: I set out to build the comprehensive, feature-packed weather platform I had always wanted to use myself, while keeping it accessible and affordable for everyday users and dedicated weather enthusiasts alike.
I designed WX Rundown to bring radar, forecasts, severe weather information, satellite imagery, alerts, and other advanced weather tools together in one convenient platform. I continue to develop and improve the site based on real-world use, community feedback, and my own experiences following weather across Maine, New England, and the rest of the United States.
I’m not a degreed meteorologist, but my passion for weather is every bit as strong as that of anyone else in the field. I’ve spent years learning, observing, researching, and following weather events, and I remain committed to continually expanding my knowledge. WX Rundown does not replace official forecasts, warnings, or professional meteorological guidance, but I built it with genuine care, curiosity, and respect for the science of weather.
Unlike weather products created by large media corporations, WX Rundown is just me — an independently operated passion project. That independence lets me experiment with new ideas, develop unique features, listen directly to users, and focus on creating tools that are both practical and enjoyable to use.
My mission is to make high-quality weather information accessible to everyone — from casual weather watchers checking tomorrow’s forecast to dedicated enthusiasts tracking storms and exploring advanced radar and satellite products.
WX Rundown continues to grow, but my purpose remains the same: to provide a reliable, affordable, and comprehensive weather platform built by someone who has genuinely loved weather since childhood.
Thank you for visiting WX Rundown and supporting an independently built weather project.
Andrew
